Labor Day Beach Bash on Tybee Island

If you’ve been trying to decide what to do for Labor Day weekend, look no further than the Annual Labor Day Beach Bash here on Tybee Island!  On Sunday, September 2, 2012 you will enjoy the ocean breezes, live music, and of course fireworks from the majestic Tybee Pier & Pavilion.

The Labor Day Beach bash is the perfect way to ring out the end of the summer with a celebration that includes a long time southern tradition.  You’ll hear music from the beach music legends, the Swingin’ Medallions, a high-energy band that has performed live with Bruce Springsteen and has been featured in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

The awesome and highly anticipated fireworks display can be enjoyed from the pier, the beach or anywhere on Tybee Island after dark (around 9:15 p.m.).  This popular annual Labor Day event is free and open to the public.  The Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion is located at Tybrisa St. and Strand Ave., and you’ll want to keep in mind that the city of Tybee Island charges $1.50 per hour for parking from 8am-8pm, 7 days a week.

This family friendly event is perfect for people of all ages, and will surely make for long lasting memories.  The Labor Day Beach Bash is one of the 4 annual events that make up Tybee Fest, an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to providing entertainment, events, and festivals on Tybee Island for the enjoyment of Tybee residents and visitors alike.  The other three events are Tybee Island Pirate Fest, New Years Eve Fireworks, and Mardi Gras Tybee.
