Time to VOTE on Names for the 17th Street Inn’s Rooms!
Two weeks ago we received a super awesome suggestion from one of our Facebook fans! We had posted a photo tour of the rooms here at the 17th Street Inn and the suggestion from Susan Patereau was to let our fans and readers choose actual names for our rooms instead of the not-very-exciting numbers they have now.
Well we asked for your suggestions and we certainly got them! Now we need your help choosing the best names for each room!
Listed below are each room and the suggestions we got to name them. All you have to do is leave us a comment on this blog post or on our Facebook Page with the name you like best…once the votes are in, we’ll announce the names in next week’s Tuesday blog!
Before we get into the names, here is a blanket suggestion on how to name each of the rooms —
- Name each room after a shell – these were the suggestions: Cowrie, Spindle, Abalone, Treton, Selacosa, Celoy, Turretella, and Whelk (The idea here is that each of the 8 rooms would be named after a type of shell, but not tying it directly to the decor or colors, as those could change.)
- Name each room after a famous person from Georgia – the two suggestions we received were Coretta, for Coretta Scott King, or Rosalyn, for Rosalyn Carter.

1. Princess
2. Sea Shell
3. Mermaid Tail
4. Pink Sunset
Room 3

2. Sunrise
3. Goldenrod

1. Opalescence
2. Coastal Scene
3. Tea Time
Room 5
Possible Names:
1. Morning Glow
2. Sunny Day
3. Sun in a Bottle
4. Cheer
5. Lazy Day
6. Cozy Charm
Room 6
Possible Names:
1. Coastal
2. Sandy Beach
Room 7
Possible Names:
1. Pocket of Sunshine
2. Breakfast in Bed
3. Fish Bowl
4. Sunny Charm
Room 8
Possible Names:
1. Daytime Breeze
2. Elegance
3. Beach Day
4. Tybee Charm
Well there you have it folks! It’s really a shame that we can’t choose more than one name for each room since they were so creative and we love them all!
