Highlights of Tybee for the Holidays ~ A One-of-a-Kind Celebration

The holiday season has officially started in Tybee (at least it feels like it has) and what a season it’s going to be!  Every year, we start celebrating on Thanksgiving and don’t stop until the new year is rung in.  Tybee for the Holidays is probably the most anticipated time here on the island and gives the locals and visitors yet another reason to have a good time (not that we NEED another reason)!

Here’s a look at the highlights of this fantastically fun time of year!

November 22, 2012 – Thanksgiving Day
There are a variety of restaurants open in Tybee on Thanksgiving day to let you leave the cooking and cleaning to someone else!

December 7, 2012 – LIGHTS ON FOR TYBEE
At 6:30pm a celebratory Tybee tradition will be happening downtown with the tree lighting and holiday joy!  This lighting tradition includes lights, music, dancing, shopping, and dining.

December 8, 2012 – Tybee Island CHRISTMAS PARADE
The parade starts at 1:00pm and will travel from the 14th Street parking lot to the Gym for photo time with Mr. & Mrs. Claus and other family fun.  If you’re staying here at the 17th Street Inn, you’ll only be 3 streets away!

At 5:00pm, carolers of ages will gather to board the trolley at 404 Butler Avenue and by 6:00pm will be spreading singing joy throughout the island!

The spectacular display of fireworks will launch at midnight from the Walter W. Parker Pier & Pavilion to ring in 2013 with a bang!

Tybee for the Holidays includes so much more, we just wanted to bring you a little taste of what goes on here this time of year!  It’s a one-of-a-kind celebration that gets better and better every year, and this year is certainly no exception!

Which event are you most looking forward to?

There is never a shortage of fun and things to do in Tybee so pack your bags and we’ll see you when you get here!
