Beach Volleyball Tournament Returns to Tybee in 2013

Beach volleyball is fun anywhere you play (or watch) it, but here in Tybee Island, we make an entire event out of it!  Does that surprise you?  I didn’t think so!

Returning for the third year on May 12, 2013, the EVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour will excite and delight spectators as well as athletes from all over.  The event is brought to you by Sparkling ICE and features the top City vs. City athletes and free agents, and has a variety of new things happening this year:

  • more great giveaways
  • new sponsors
  • Bump in the Bucket event
  • Spike the T-Shirt
  • lots of prizes

The Beach Volleyball Tournament will be held on South Beach near the Tybee Pier and Pavilion, a premier entertainment center located literally just 40 seconds from the 17th Street Inn.

The tournament attracts visitors to our island and promotes Tybee as a tourism destination.  The event is even filmed, and a highlight show airs on cable sports networks around the country!  How awesome is that?  While only in its third year, interest in the event has more than doubled, going from sixty teams that participated in the semi-pro tournament in the first year to 136 teams this year.  It’s going to be one of the best features of Beach Bum week, one of the most fun weeks here in Tybee!

Is beach volleyball something that gets you pumped up?

There is never a shortage of fun and things to do in Tybee so pack your bags and we’ll see you when you get here!

Contact us here at the 17th Street Inn for more information about staying with us, things to do on Tybee Island including dining, nightlife, beach activities, must see attractions and events, and any other questions you may have about the area!  We would also love for you to connect with us on our Facebook Page.
