Easter Happenings in Tybee Island 2012

Easter time in Tybee Island means warm weather, flowers, beach goers, and time off from work and school.  So what Easter things are there to do in Tybee Island?  Plenty!  For starters, just enjoying the outdoors or the beach is a perfect way to spend Easter whether you are celebrating with family, friends, your significant other, or just hanging out by yourself.  Because Tybee Island is such an enchanting place, you can’t go wrong taking a stroll around the area, but make sure you have your camera with you to capture some of the beauty!

If you have little ones, pictures with the Easter Bunny is a family tradition for so many.  You’ll be heading just 18 miles away from Tybee to popular Savannah to one of two places:

1. Oglethorpe Mall, located at 7804 Abercorn Extension, Savannah

The Easter Bunny is hopping in for visits and photos from Saturday, March 24 through Saturday, April 7!

The Easter Bunny is available for photos during the following times:
■Monday – Saturday: 10am – 8pm
■Sunday: 12pm – 6pm
The Easter Bunny will take periodic breaks throughout the day.

Also at the Oglethorpe Mall is a favorite FREE Savannah Easter tradition, the Chick Hatchery.  Kids of all ages can watch the chicks and ducks emerge from their eggs and hold a newly hatched chick.  The hatchery is open mall hours: 10 AM-8 PM.

2. Savannah Mall, located at 14045 Abercorn St., Savannah

The Easter Bunny arrives at Target Court on Saturday, March 24 and will be there every day until Easter.  Don’t miss this chance for pictures with your favorite furry friend!

Doggie Easter Bonnet Contest & Egg Hunt
Also in Savannah is what sounds like such a fun Easter event – Doggie Easter Bonnet Contest & Egg Hunt

It takes place at Daffin Park on Victory Drive in Savannah on Sunday, April 1, 2012
1-2 PM: Registration
2-3 PM: Easter Bonnet Contest
3-4 PM: Easter Egg Hunt

All dogs must be on a leash, have proof of current rabies shots, and remain under control at all times.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Bring your basket and water for pets, you’ll also get lots of prizes, and it’s FREE!
